From Consulate, SFO - It is to inform that with an aim to motivate both overseas Indian youth and youth of foreign nationality and also to develop their interest to know and understand India, as envisaged by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India is organizing the second edition of ‘Bharat ko Janiye’ (BKJ) quiz in 2018-19. The Quiz is open for PIOs, NRIs and Foreign Nationals between the age of 18 and 35 years.
Quiz Process - The quiz will be held for three distinct categories of participants – PIOs, NRIs & Foreign Nationals separately. It will be organized in 4 rounds. The 1st round of Quiz test will be open for the contestants from October 16 to October 31, 2018 (local time). The same will be executed by the Indian Missions abroad. Indian Missions will give medals to three top winners of each category, who will then participate in the second round of quiz (online) to be conducted by the Ministry in New Delhi. The third and fourth rounds (semi final and final round) will also be conducted by the Ministry in New Delhi. All participants, who are invited for onsite Quiz (3rd and 4th round) would attend a workshop in New Delhi and participate in the “Bharat ko Janiye Yatra”, a 15 day tour of India including a visit to Lakshadweep Union Territory. After the Yatra, final round (onsite) of BKJQ will be held in New Delhi and top 3 winners (NRI, PIO & Foreign National category) will be awarded Gold/Silver/Bronze medals at the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Convention in January 2019 at Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh.

Registration - The Registration on the portal is mandatory by the eligible contestant. In the first round, there will be 30 questions to be selected randomly by the computer to be answered in 25 minutes. There is no negative marking. The cut-off date for registration process is till 15 October 2018 (local time). Overseas contestants can appear in the Quiz test from anywhere or any part of the world during this period. It may be noted that Quiz contestants do not require to visit Indian Embassy to take the test. In view of the above, you are all requested to share the information with all the eligible participants and encourage them to participate in the Bharat Ko Janiye Quiz.
